It was a hard fought match at WMS home field against the visiting Pirates. Dayton came out strong and scored early on a goal by Servanda Cortes. Twelve minutes later WMS scored their first goal on a beautiful cross by Jae Sung Lee to Theo Stoutt who headed it in. Western's Lee scored again at the 31 minute mark, but Dayton's Cortes found the mark again just a few minutes later, making it a 2-2 tie going into the half.
In the second half, WMS' Stoutt scored again for his second goal of the match after Dayton's goalkeeper deflected a shot by WMS' Tyler Fowler and Stoutt was there for the putback. Dayton's Jesus Geovani found the back of the net though at the 68 minute mark to tie it up again 3-3.
Both teams had additional opportunities down the stretch but neither able to capitalize. It was a well-fought match in a non-league game between two Special District 4 teams. They play for league action on at Dayton. Should be a good match.
Congratulations to both teams for an exciting game of soccer.
